So, hi! It has been a hot minute since I was last here and I’ll be honest, I fell a bit out of love with my blog. I started Phat Cupcake as a weight loss accountability site. I had always been into journalling (remember Live Journal?) my life and Phat Cupcake was an extension of that. It quickly transpired that I wasn’t great at sticking to a diet and much preferred writing about my favourite places to eat, drink and explore. The last 10 years (yes it has been that long) have been incredible with multiple restaurant reviews, press trips and booze related events, but I find myself constantly explaining why I am called Phat Cupcake and how that relates to my site. I have thought about a name change for quite some time and the name The Hungry Hodophile is one I have always come back to. I may be massively shooting myself in the foot because people now ask what ‘hodophile’ means, but that is a much shorter take than trying to explain Phat Cupcake.
